CHEO

THERE ARE ABOUT 10,000 CANADIAN CHILDREN LIVING WITH CANCER

– Every $1 donated to research at CHEO equals more than $4 when leveraged through grants and other sources

– Cancer is the second leading cause of death for Canadian children ages 1 – 14 years old

– Radiation to a child’s brain can significantly impair cognitive function. If radiation is given at a very young age, it can impact the ability to read, do basic math, tell time or even talk

– It costs an average of $250,000 a year to run a small research lab
