Beyoncé has teased collaborations and surprises on her upcoming album, Cowboy Carter, which she clarified is not a country album but “a ‘Beyoncé’ album.” In an Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for fans’ support on her country-inspired singles, and the historic achievement of being the first Black woman to have a No. 1 country hit. She revealed that the album has been a years-long process, sparked by not feeling welcomed in the genre.

Beyoncé stated, “act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together.” She hinted at “a few surprises” and collaborations with artists she deeply respects. The album is described as a continuation of her previous work and aims to create an immersive experience for listeners. Cowboy Carter is set to be released on March 29.
