Clips of Gayle King’s recent in-depth interview with Jay-Z have been teased for weeks, and now CBS has announced that the full hour-long special will air November 14th. Jay-Z And Gayle King: Brooklyn’s Own, will follow the series premiere of NCIS: Sydney on the network, and also stream on Paramount+. The hip-hop mogul opens up about his many business and musical ventures, and the new Book Of HOV exhibit at the Brooklyn Library celebrating his career. Pieces of the interview aired in two parts on CBS last month, but this special includes new material, along with archival footage of Jay-Z talking with the late Bob Simon from 2002. “I think what matters most is, today, is, being a beacon and helping out … my culture,” Jay-Z says in one clip. “People of colour. I think I pull the most satisfaction from that.
