For this Capital Area Adventure, Chris bikes his way across Ottawa looking for awesome hidden gems (that could be just around the corner from you!)

As we all know, Chris is a pretty adventurous guy. So of course he was more than happy to do some exploring using pedal power for this Adventure.

While there is SO MUCH ground to cover, he had a few favourites that he stumbled upon that he wanted to share!

First, a summer favourite is beaches! Specifically the Westboro Beach Cafe. Open weekdays from 11am – 10pm, offering a tasty grilled menu, and their fully licensed!
While COVID-19 may have hindered the ‘live music’ portion of this wonderful café, they still can host events and even offer catering!

If you’re planning on biking here, you can get here by the Trans Canada trail, Ottawa River Parkway, NCC recreational pathway and the Ottawa River.

Next up, the Remic Rapids Park Bistro!

Right off of Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, you can stop and refuel here with its all-day menu that also has vegetarian and gluten-free options!
Afterwards, you can explore the Ottawa River, the SJAM Winter Trail, Balanced rock sculptures, and appreciate the natural wildlife habitat that has been restored by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority due to invasive plants!

Bistro patio at Remic Rapids Park.

Seeking a peaceful escape within the city? Check out Hogs Back Falls (also called Prince of Wales Falls)!

Right along the Rideau River, you can get here by bike by the Rideau River Eastern Pathway.

Bike here along your way to Mooney’s Bay and stop to relax and take in the migrated birds, turbulent falls, and other scenic views.
