For this Capital Area Adventure, Robbin teams up with Escape Tours & Rentals and explores Ottawa with pedal power!

One of the best parts of Summer is getting to travel by bike. Whether you want to go to a beach, a museum, have a picnic, or just explore the many paths in Ottawa – enjoy the freedom by bicycle!

Sometimes though, having a tour guide is a great way to truly learn the history of a city all the while getting to explore some spots you’d never think to adventure to!

On a fresh morning at 9:00am, the rain held off for a perfect bike ride with Robbin and tour guide, Andrew! (Seriously, he’s AWESOME!)

There are several tours you can take! The one Robbin has was what they call the “Ottawa 101” Tour!

Kicking off the tour from Headquarters on Sparks Street – heading straight to Rideau Canal Locks! That dirt road on the right of the locks is where a good’s transport train used to be!

Biked behind Parliament and head on towards the Canadian Museum of History – even saw some wildlife like Canadian Loons and a rabbit along the way.

Riding over this really cool (and kind of scary) wooden bridge to enjoy the National Gallery of Canada – we ALL know of this spider in Ottawa – it’s iconic. And this gross looking pole? Well.. that’s just where people put their Museum stickers when they leave…classy as always, Ottawa!

Then a really breezy, and fun tour of Lowertown, New Edinburgh, and Rideau Hall. Which also took us to the Governor General’s Residence – sadly, Mary Simon has yet to move in!

As usual, the Rideau Falls is BEAUTIFUL as always. Water is so majestic… but just for looking!

And the tour ended off at the National Research Council.

Don’t forget to check out the little café that’s inside Escape Tours on Sparks Street – their coffee is locally sourced so you’ll always get a fresh cup hot OR cold!

While we teased the destinations, there is still SO much history to learn behind each one of these locations and you’ll truly only get to learn it through a biking tour – like through Escape Tours and Rentals!
