The queen has returned to the VMAs, and so has her iconic disco ball.

Performing her new record live for the first time, Miley Cyrus returned to the VMAs stage to sing her new song, Midnight Sky.  Towards the end of her performance, Miley climbs onto a giant, sequenced disco ball, similar to her ‘Wrecking Ball’ music video.

Just last week, Miley celebrated the 7th anniversary of ‘Wrecking Ball’ on Instagram.  Posting a clip from the music video, Miley writes, “7 years of Wrecking Ball. My concept of time is completely askew. Feels like a lifetime ago… but somehow only yesterday. Thank you for all the support you gave me then and of course the love you’re continuing to show my art today. Forever grateful & inspired.”>

Miley previously hosted the VMAs back in 2015 and last year, she performed ‘Slide Away,’ a record Miley released shortly after her split from ex-husband, Laim Hemsworth.

This year, Miley was nominated and won the awards for ‘Best Art Direction’ and ‘Best Editing’ for ‘Mother’s Daughter.’
