Tones and I has also become a success worldwide – she topped the Spotify Global Top 50 with more than 6 million streams, making her the first Australian artist ever in history to do so.

While talking with Spotify, Tones and I spoke about the fast-rising success behind her current single, “It was very unexpected.  I’m still getting my head around it.  I just try and focus on each day as it comes.”

During an interview with an Australian radio station, Tones explains, “I wrote this song [Dance Monkey] about being a busker and realizing that you can definitely tell that people are so entertained now by the click of a button now or a swipe.  And when you’re playing live shows, I can see that, and I think there were a lot of times when I was busking where there were a lot of people in your face, like, ‘More, more! Go again, again, again!'”

Recently, Tones and I released a stripped back version of ‘Dance Monkey.’
