This has to be the BEST news I’ve heard all year … there just might be a ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ in the works and my 6-year old self is screaming with joy!

‘Hocus Pocus’ originally released back in 1993 and starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy who played the iconic Sanderson sisters.  Rumour has it – Disney has hired Jen D’Angelo to write the script for ‘Hocus Pocus 2.’  Jen is known for her work on Workaholics, where she wrote and co-produced the production.  If production on the film does follow through, it’ll be featured on Disney+.

In a 2017 interview with Kenny Ortega (director of the original ‘Hocus Pocus’), he told Entertainment Tonight, “I would like to see a sequel, and I think fans would like to see a sequel. I think it would be much more fun to bring the ladies back.  They’re all still vital and in their prime and capable of doing so much that it would be great to see Bette and Kathy and Sarah come back together to do another movie and I think they would like to.”

Hocus Pocus (Kenny Ortega, 1993) ••• *Birthday Post!* Director Kenny Ortega was asked to whom this movie was targeted to, and he responded “to everyone!”, families, kids, adults, anyone who would enjoy a good old simple yet iconic comedy. And well, now years later we are getting a brand new sequel, premiering on the Disney+ App. Hocus Pocus is an undeniable classic that will go down for generations in a row, with an undying use of caricature, for all ages to enjoy! Can’t wait for the new one to come, hope they don’t mess it up! ••• My opinion: God I love this one! Brings me all the way back to my childhood, prove of how great it is: the first time I watched it may have been around 15 years after its release… and now more 25 years later it still preserves that sensational burlesque tone, that everybody loves! ••• P.s. yes today is my birthday, no I don’t like it… hate birthdays but hey I got the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child screenplay btw this was me this morning… Cheers, -S. Sarah Jessica Parker who played younger sister Sarah Sanderson, explained to Entertainment Weekly, “I don’t think any of us who were making it at the time thought Hocus Pocus would have such a long life.  People tell me all the time they grew up watching it, and that they still watch it. I think it’s wonderful.”

1993 Hocus Pocus This movie has become a staple for my family during the Halloween season. It's a family friendly film that has a lot of appeal for almost all age groups. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimi play a trio of sister witches from colonial times who are hanged for witchcraft. All three of them are perfect in their respective roles. They are hilarious in their fish out of water act when they are brought back from the grave in modern times. This is the perfect type of movie where you can just shut your brain off for 90 minutes or so and enjoy the antics of what you're watching. 7.5/10 #hocuspocus #hocuspocusmovie #itsjustalittlehocuspocus #amuckamuckamuck #avirginlitthecandle
