Ellen DeGeneres was one of the first to reveal Nick Jonas’ big news – he has been announced as one of the coaches on the upcoming season of ‘The Voice.’  Nick will now join the panel alongside Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John Legend.  Watch the clip below.

Meredith Ahr, who is the President for the Alternative and Reality Group for NBC Entertainment says, “As a member of one of the hottest pop groups, Nick’s success in navigating all aspects of the music industry is exceptional.  We were so impressed by his innate musicality, technical aptitude and passion that he brought to Songland earlier this year and know he will be an incredible fit as a coach on The Voice. We are excited to see Nick lend his mentorship, reliability and breadth of knowledge to a new crop of artists.”

Nick then expressed, “I’m so excited to be a part of The Voice family.  It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices.”

After millions of fans congratulated Nick online, his brothers also left heartwarming messages on Twitter.  Joe tweeted, “Congrats @nickjonas on joining @nbcthevoice!! Proud of you!” and Kevin wrote, “Congrats brother! Can’t wait to see you kill it on Season 18 of @nbcthevoice!!”
