It’s been almost 20 years since Jennifer Lopez wowed us with a now-iconic, neck-plunging, emerald silk chiffon dress.  During the 42nd GRAMMY Awards, Jennifer walked on that stage with such beauty and confidence and along with actor David Duchovny, gave out the first award of the night.

Jennifer slayed in 2000 and in 2019, STILL continues to slay! During Versace’s spring 2020 show in Milan for fashion week, Jlo closed the show by walking the runway in her now, recreated iconic green gown, looking better than ever!

As Entertainment Tonight describes, The new dress has the same emerald color and plunging V-neckline as the original, but the 2019 edition features modern short sleeves and cut outs at the waist.”  Following the fashion show, both Jennifer and designer Donatella Versace received a standing ovation – and for good reason.

Back in 2000, Jennifer was an up-and-coming artist (seeing as how she was already an actress before dropping her debut album, On the 6 in 1999).  Between filming The Wedding Planner and recording a new album, what time did she really have to get ready for the GRAMMYs? Jlo’s former stylist Andrea Lieberman remembers, “I was preparing for a last-minute fitting with [Lopez] in New York, driving down Fifth Avenue in a taxi, and I remember seeing that green dress in the window of the Versace boutique.  When she tried it on, everyone knew it was the dress.”

According to Eric Schmidt who was the former Google CEO, he explained in an essay written in 2015 that Jennifer’s 2000 GRAMMY look was “the most popular search query we had ever seen.”  And if you’re interested in rocking this Versace classic, it’s valued at $100,000 to $200,000.

Check this out – JLo in 2000 and in 2019 – woman does NOT age!!!
