26-year old, Toronto-born, Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter JP Saxe is this month’s ‘One To Watch.’

JP is best known for his breakout single The Few Things, which kick-started his musical career.  On the day of the song’s release, JP remembers receiving messages from people across the globe, expressing their love for the song and how it impacted them, “I was in the personal process of trying to figure out how to be more honest with myself and with others about my emotional experience of the world. People finding me through that song led to a conversation I needed to have for myself and to people who were wanting to have it too.”  Listen to The Few Things below.

JP’s record eventually racked up well over 30 million streams, it lead to his first-ever headlining tour and as of recently, signed a record label deal with Sony Arista.  David Massey, who is Arista’s president and CEO told Billboard, “JP Saxe is a truly distinctive singer-songwriter, set for a long and illustrious career across the world.  His poignant songs, including ‘The Few Things,’ have already captured the hearts of so many, and we expect ‘Same Room’ to have the same impact on his fans. We are so proud to have JP join the Arista and Work of Art Publishing families.”

JP’s musical journey began when he was 14-years old.  He performed his first live show in a Toronto bar during a Sunday brunch and back then, was paid $75 for the gig.  JP explains, “I still have the check.”  Once he graduated from high school, JP ventured off to LA and for the next two year, began the process of recording an artist project.  JP says, “Ultimately, the music hadn’t really settled into itself, because I hadn’t really settled into myself.”
