KiSS Delivers takes ‘support local’ to the next level! It all began with Kelly from the Heart Institute asking Sandra of the Sandra and Chris Show (weekdays from 5:30AM-9AM) a simple favour:

“Hi, I was hoping to organize a food drive at the heart institute… any tips of [sic] ideas… is there anyone that can pick up the food… I am trying to make it heart institute wide”

This message came in Tuesday, Sept. 25th at 7AM… the day many of us got our power back and started ‘picking up the pieces’ from Friday’s damaging storm(s). Kelly’s message echoed the collective thoughts of the entire national capital region (and beyond):

I want to help… but how?

Going off of Kelly’s idea, we decided that we, a proudly local radio station, could float a few station vehicles… a few extra bodies and helping hands… we could make this work for the Heart Institute. We would happily pick up their donated goods and bring them to the food bank. No sweat!

We put the call out to see if any other businesses would like to hop on board, and the response was overwhelming.

Here are the local businesses who held food drives to benefit the Ottawa Food Bank;

Thank you to Christina McNabb in Munster for your independent donation, too.
