Quick Hits for August 23rd: Justin Bieber Buys Ontario Mansion, Ben Affleck Enters Rehab and 'Top Gun: Maverick' Adds Star Power

Ben Affleck Back in Rehab

Ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, staged an intervention with a ‘sober coach’ on Wednesday at Affleck’s Pacific Palisades home. The star has struggled with alcohol addiction for years, first entering rehab in 2001 and, more recently, 2017. Affleck has been attending AA meetings but needed something more.

Garner, who has three children with Affleck, told him to get his life together before she would agree to settle their divorce. She knew trouble was brewing and was hoping to inspire him to take care of his health for their children’s sake.

We’re told, post intervention, that Affleck “knew he needed help” and was very willing to check himself into rehab.

Bieber has just bought this $5 million mansion in Puslinch Lake, Ontario. Part of Wellington County, the mansion is located on a completely private lake: zero public access, making it the perfect getaway for the soon to be newleyweds!

Top Gun Reboot Adds to Star Power

Tom Cruise has gained some cast-members for the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick. The sequal to 1986’s Top Gun will also star Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Lewis Pullman, Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller.

The movie premiers July 12, 2019. We don’t have too much info about the flick, other than it’s based on Teller’s character, the son of Goose (Maverick’s former partner).
