Bound to please his die-hard fans, the 25-year-old croons his way into hearts with yet another love ballad. Though not much different from his previous hits, the song features his typical smooth vocals, background choir, and a heartfelt message of unrequited love.

“Too Good at Goodbyes” is the lead single in his forthcoming second studio album, with no release take or name as of yet. But if the rest of the tracks are anything like this one, his loyal followers will not be disappointed!

The GRAMMY award winner spoke to Radio.com about his inspiration for this new single. Apparently, it was inspired by a recent break up—or three! The star revealed, “I was in a relationship, a pretty short brief one, and I basically got dumped a few times and kept going back.

He continued openly: “It was a very tumultuous relationship and every time it would hit a wall, I just got better and better at saying goodbye. When it did finally come to an end, I was just ready and prepped. I felt like a bit of a master of heartbreak by that time,” he shared with a smile.

Sam even had some relationship advice for his fans, “The first thing you do is drink and go out with friends and forget about it. And then you sit with yourself and grieve,” he shared, continuing, “It’s so important to just sit alone and think about what that relationship was, the positives and negatives, and just sit and live with it.”
