Justin Trudeau surprised the cast of X-Men: Dark Phoenix this week when he dropped by the film’s set in Montreal. The prime minister made the meet-and-greet extra special by posing for a picture with the movie’s cast and crew.
Many of the action flick’s stars, including James McAvoy and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, were so thrilled to meet the Canadian politician that they commemorated the event by posting a picture on social media.

“Just met ‘the dude’. Thank you Canada for such a progressive, impressive and somewhat suggestive real life superhero,” wrote James, a sentiment that was echoed by Sophie, who gushed that she “met an actual superhero.”

It has been a very busy week for the PM. He took part in Toronto’s Pride Parade on Sunday (June 25) with his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau and two of his children, Ella-Grace and Xavier.

The Canadian leader looked to be in high spirits as he joined revellers in the march down Yonge St. Justin was spotted shouting out “Happy Pride!” to the crowd as well as waving and hugging thousands of people who lined Toronto’s most famous street. The 45-year-old showed off his pride by wearing rainbow socks and sporting a temporary tattoo of a rainbow maple leaf on his cheek.

Justin also stopped to talk to reporters about the importance of the annual event. “It’s all about how we celebrate the multiple layers of identities that make Canada extraordinary and strong,” Justin explained to Kiss 92.5before exclaiming, “Happy Pride to everyone! Happy Pride Toronto!”
