James Arthur, Rita Ora, and Grammy-nominated artist Julia Michaels have all been named One to Watch artists this past year as well as some young talented Canadian musicians like, Jessie Reyez, Romes and Neon Dreams.

Well, the latter are back as they’ve jumped on this month’s One to Watch artist Quake Matthews’ single, ‘Confessions’.

Quake Matthews (real name Matthew Arab), is a Hip-Hop artist from the province of Nova Scotia – home to other Canadian standouts Classified and Ria Mae – and got his start by making a name for himself in the underground battle rap scene.

He’s achieved a lot of recognition from some of the biggest media outlets in Hip-Hop including The Source, All Def Digital and was highlighted under Funk Master Flex’s (the legendary Hot 97 New York DJ) ‘Indie Spotlight.

He’s a multiple East Coast Music award winner and took home ‘Hip Hop Recording of the Year’ at the Music Nova Scotia Week , for ‘The Search’.

He’s worked alongside some of Hip-Hop’s biggest names such as Royce Da 5’9, who worked with him on the single, ‘I Stand Alone’, Canadian rap legend Choclair and R&B singer JRDN to name a few.

One of the coolest things for Quake is that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau named his song, ‘Confessions’ on his summer Spotify Playlist.

‘Confessions’ appear on Quake’s recent studio album, Celebrate the Struggle. Check out the album trailer below!
