Tis the season to get carving, fa la la la laaaa, la HALLOWEEN.

I know that’s not how it goes, but I get GIDDY annually, after discovering a few years ago that Carving pumpkins into MORE than the classic Jack o Lantern face (above) isn’t actually all that tough.

Just takes time, and a little patience.

My old technique: Find a picture you like, outline the piece you WANT in it, grayscale it, print it out, and then stencil it (freehand or using the Pushpin-into-the-pumpkin-everywhere technique), carve it, scrape it, and booyah.

Would LOVE to see other people’s work, I don’t even know if that’s possible on here…

Here’s a few of mine from years gone by.

the first CRAZY one I ever did, was a four sided Mario Bros Pumpkin.

The next year, I opened it up to listeners to pick what I’d carve… and ended up with the Monkey from Family guy.

A minion on year…

A Sens logo the next…

And then an OFFICE showdown four sider, where we took the “horror flicks” theme. Sadly, we lost (because the other teams BRIBED THE JUDGES, which it turns out: Was completely legal.)

DON’T FEEL CONSTRAINED BY THE CLASSIC JACK O LANTERN FACE. EMBRACE YOUR INNER CARVER, YO!
