Late night host and carpool karaoke commuter, James Corden, will take the wheel as host of the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards® in February!

It’s not surprising that Corden has been tapped as host, as he’s turned his popular ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment in to a viral hit with a rotating cast of some of the biggest names in music.

“Thanks to ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ we’ve all been on some incredible rides with James, and The Recording Academy couldn’t be more excited to welcome his passion and enthusiasm for music, both as an entertainer and a fan, to the GRAMMY® stage on Feb. 12,” said Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow.

Corden takes over from LL Cool J who has served as host for the past five years.

“I am truly honoured to be hosting The Grammys next year,” Corden said in a statement. “It’s the biggest, most prestigious award show in music, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible night.”

In addition to hosting the ‘Late Late Show’, Corden previously hosted the 2016 Tony Awards.

Nominations for this years GRAMMYs are being announced on December 6th, and you can catch the 59th Annual Awards® on February 12th on City.
